It's been even wetter than usual so I decided to paint something indoors.

I was thinking about Odd Nerdrum’s painting One Bread from 1991. We saw the charcoal drawing for this at the New Orleans Museum of Art in 1994, which was a show that made me change as a painter. I can't touch most of what Nerdrum does - maybe this is an attempt to grasp the hem of his robe.

It can't rain forever.
